In the mid 80's, movement within the metal is perceived a certain weariness. The stars were shining examples from the early beginning to decline or pervert their image and roots: the records of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest no longer had the freshness of old, dressed in colorful Scorpions and filled the charts of tender ballads. American groups, provided slaves to fashion, sank into oblivion, replaced by new products of multinationals. In those years, Trash Metal emerged in response to "softening" general music and image in the metal: bands like Metallica, Slayer or Kreator brought sobriety back in appearance and ferocity in the music that seemed lost.
But that decline came something else. Something very sinister, which actually was years in gestation, but had not come to light, perhaps hidden by the huge success of traditional heavy groups.
In the world of Metal has always played with the satanic. Accusations of blasphemy insert messages in their songs had to suffer and the grandparents Led Zeppelin and during the 80's were many groups that included in their cover letters or satanic elements. As well known examples, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath (true specialists in the subject), AC / DC and many more. But those did not stop being mere games that aimed to improve sales through provocation and / or fascination with dark themes provoke in a young audience.

In Norway, Euronymous, Dead and Hellhammer, Mayhem group members ("Chaos") took the leadership of the Black movement in your country, gearing it towards a racist ideology, and anti-Christian pagan. Since then, the activity disappears and the Inner Circle members are still free limit their activity to the world of music by bands like Emperor , Dissection and Immortal, many of which continue releasing albums today.
